Fashion designer and blogger Melissa A. Taylor has a lot of things to say about making a good hair style.
For starters, she doesn’t wear a bun, but she does wear it for every occasion.
That’s why Taylor recently unveiled a new, more refined style for men.
Taylor told The Huffington Post that the new style, called the “Bun Buns,” is meant to be a bit more formal for those who prefer a more natural look.
“I really wanted the look to have a little bit more of a braid in it and be a little more refined,” Taylor said.
“Because if you go back to when I was younger, I remember doing a binder or two, and I was like, ‘I want to get that style.'”
“When I was a kid, I wanted to wear a bangle, and that was like a very natural look, but now I think it’s more about going with a little extra flare to it,” Taylor continued.
“It has to be something that I feel is in keeping with my lifestyle.”
Taylor said she didn’t want the new look to be too formal, either.
“People will wear it to work and then they’re like, oh, I don’t want to wear this,” Taylor told HuffPost.
“And I’ll say, ‘well, maybe we can get this together,'” she said.
The new look comes in three variations: a simple ponytail with a short top, a long ponytail, and a bun with a long top.
“They’re all different,” Taylor explained.
“The ponytail is just a little less dramatic, and the bun is really bold.”
The ponytail and the shorter bun are also available in two different lengths, so those looking to pick up the new bun should stick with that.
